Northwestern Lake Forest applicants will not be required to take the assessment at this time. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Current PACU RN experience strongly preferred. ACLS, PALS, CPR required. Will consider minimum 1 year current hospital ICU RN work experience. Illinois Registered Nurse license and graduation from an accredited nursing program required. Must have the ability to commit to work weekdays, Monday through Friday. This outpatient surgery center is part of Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital’s continuing commitment to deliver exemplary services, convenience and compassionate care to northwest Lake County.
The surgery center suites are equipped with state-of-the-art surgical equipment and information technology. They are staffed by Northwestern Lake Forest's accomplished anesthesiologists and surgeons. The PACU RN will assist with recovering patients from the following surgeries:
General Surgery
Hand/Upper Extremity Surgery
Orthopaedic Surgery
Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat)
Podiatry/Podiatric Surgery
Urology
The ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The staff nurse is a registered nurse (RN) licensed to practice nursing in the state of Illinois who accepts the responsibility for assuring competent, compassionate, individualized, nursing care for specific patients and families as the primary care nurse, including delegation to and supervision of non-professional clinical and support staff. The RN has the responsibility, authority, and accountability for assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient's nursing care. She/he collaborates with the Nursing Director, Manager, Charge Nurse, and members of the Patient Care Team to achieve optimal Patient outcomes. She/he collaborates with the patient toward meeting the needs and expectations of the patient and family. Staff nurses ensure that care is safe, efficient, effective, timely and meets the cultural, spiritual, and ethnic needs of each patient and family. AA/EEO.
