Qualifications:
ART or Reg. Admin. (RRA) 2-3 years experience as an ART or RRA in a medical setting. Experience i! n a cardiac services helpful. Extensive experience working with cardiac registry information and managed care contracts. This position will need to recognize the needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated, i.e., understand normal patterns of adult behavior and look for signs of normal aging; prior experience with various age groups is preferred. Experience with personal computer & hospital information system. Experience working with relational databases and spreadsheet PC software. Organizational skills. N/A N/A
Job Description:
The Coordinator of Cardiac Registry is responsible for the development and maintenance of a computerized patient information system (cardiac registry) designed to include patient record level data for reporting volume of activity, statistics for Performance Improvement and Advocate Quality Management and data for research and lifetime follow-up. Ensure databases are accurate and up-to-date. Interacts direc! tly with physicians (esp. Cardiologists and Cardiovascular Sur! geons) to procure, extract and report specified data elements form the information system(s). The Cardiac Registry Coordinator maintains primary responsibility for general management of the Christ Hospital Cardiovascular IPA information. Oversees all contracts and associated transactions on behalf of the Cardiologists, Cardiovascular Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, and Radiologist. Interacts with the physicians, as appropriate, to determine the IPA financial implications of the patient stay, including 1) patient entry into the system, 2) DRG tracking, 3) outlier classifications(s), and 4) other patient billing functions. Accountabilities: 1. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data associated with the cardiac registry. 2. Coordinates the development and enhancement of data collection systems and data collection forms designed to efficiently provide data for the cardiac registry. 3. Responsible for overseeing operating systems and financial transactions assoc! iated with the Christ Hospital Cardiovascular IPA. 4. Participates in departmental evaluation of data entry personnel performance, as appropriate.
