Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Lead Anesthesia Tech for our Anesthesia Department located at Evanston Hospital in Evanston, IL. This is a full-time position and is benefits eligible. This position is scheduled on a rotating shift, Monda! y through Friday, so candidates need to be available to work b! oth the 1st (days) and 2nd (PM) shifts. Hours will scheduled as early as 7:00am and end as late as 6:30pm.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will: Under the direction of an advanced practice nurse and/or anesthesiologist and/or anesthesia resident, assist during pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative procedures within the Operating Room or offsite Be responsible for pre-operative, pre-procedure supply and equipment set-up and room turnover Be responsible for auditing, stocking and maintenance of anesthesia supply stations, calibration of POC equipment, high-level disinfection and/or sterilization procedures and documentation Provide basic level equipment troubleshooting and order supplies via the Lawson Material Management System
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will have: High school graduate with two (2) years Anesthesia Tech experience, Patient Care Technician with two (2) years PCT experience, Emergency Medical Technician with! two (2) years of EMT experience, or Bachelor’s degree and in nursing school or anesthesia tech school Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology Ability to understand oral and written instructions stated in medical terms and be able to exchange information with patients and hospital staff Ability to occasionally lift (patients and equipment), as well as push and/or pull objects (carts, equipment and machines)
