Provides direct clinical treatment services to patients and their families on an outpatient and inpatient basis, insuring that patients receive the treatment necessary to treat their diagnosis or disorder. Works constructively and collaboratively with other health professionals. Focuses on attaining high standards of health care in their area of clinical expertise . Duties may include instructing, monitoring, and advising junior medical officers or other health care professionals as appropriate.

Doctorate-Medicine Required
Experience
Competent in delivery of healthcare services for adolescents, adults and geriatric patients. Age specific competency is measured by a variety of methods, which may include, but not be limited to, self-learning packets, review of age specific guidelines, direct observation, video, simulation, unit-based class, policies and procedures, or chart review.
Certifications, Licenses and Registrations
Must be licensed for Physician and Surgeon in the state. Must also maintain an Controlled Substance license for the state and Federal DEA when applicable to their specialty. Must have successfully completed, or in the process of completing, an accredited residency program. Must maintain active medical colleague's privileges and medical colleague's membership. Must be board certification or board eligible. Licensed in the state of practice.

HSHS Medical Group is actively recruiting a Board Certified/ Board Eligible Anesthesiologist to join a growing team of 21 MD’s and 35 CRNA’s currently serving the patients at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.Our group provides coverage across a variety of services lines: orthopedic surgery, GI, general surgery, urology, neurosurgery, otolaryngology, reconstructive surgery, cardio-thoracic/vascular surgery, diagnostic/ interventional radiol ogy, OB/ Pediatric/ NICU, Level 1 Trauma!
Position is employed with the HSHS Medical group which is a not-for-profit integrated network of healthcare services. Position is located at our system Hospital- St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL; a 431-bed Level I Trauma Center with Level III NICU. St. John’s serves as a teaching hospital for the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. St. John’s Hospital is a Regional Medical Center that offers a comprehensive array of tertiary health services to a population base of 1.5 million central and southern Illinois residents. St. John’s $121 million Surgery Modernization construction project replaced the existing inpatient surgery department. The new surgery space opened in the Summer of 2014. The Surgery Modernization project put all surgery services, including cardiac, pediatric, day surgery/ outpatient and Main surgical services into one centralized location.
