Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Six months - one year experience Good Communication Skills Courteous and professional interpersonal skills. Ability to work in fast paced enviroment with established time constraints May be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases Ability to recognize needs of specific patient age groups Ability to perform heavy lifting (lifting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds frequently and/or lifting 10 to 20 pounds constantly.) Ability to work designated! shifts, including weekends and holidays
Job Descr! iption:
To assist in providing quality patient care in a manner which is focused on the surgical patient, technically appropriate and cost effective. The Anesthesia Technician works under the direct supervision of the Anesthesia Nurse Coordinator and Anesthesiologist within guidelines of Illinois Nurse Practice Act as well as the mission and philosophy of Lutheran General Hospital, Advocate Health Care. The Anesthesia Technician works in collaboration with the Anesthesia Nurse Coordinator and Anesthesiologist as partners in the care of the patient. The Anesthesia Technician recognizes the needs of patients of various ages and provides appropriate service. Accountabilities: 1. Responsible for maintaining adequate supplies, equipment needed for the care of the anesthesia patient: 2. Participates in the preparation of the OR suite for admission of patients, under the supervision of the Anesthesia Nurse Coordinator or Anesthesiologist or designee. 3.
