MN Eye Consultants is currently hiring for full-time (1.0 FTE) Medical Date Entry Specialists.
Position Summary:
The Medical Data Entry Specialist is responsible for data review, collection, input, and analysis to allow for the proper professional diagnosis of patient’s conditions and to do so in a way that instills provider confidence in the treatment. This position will work primarily remotely for the first 6-18 months after initial training. Training will take place on site at the MEC offices in Bloomington.

Career Path:
The work responsibilities for this position will transition after 6-18 months into an Ophthalmic Technician or Scribe role. Location and job role will vary based on company needs and incumbent interest.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review patient’s charts and analyze patient data.
- Collate patient data into formatted summary in from NextGen to Nextech.
- Review patient histories including past ocular/medical history, family medical/ocular history and history of allergies and medications and transfer the data from NextGen to NexTech.
- Participate in trainings and meet requirements for Merit Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) measures, HIPAA compliance and Protected Health Information.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred one-year certificate from college or technical school; or six months related eye experience and/or training with completion of AAO home study course.
- Comprehensive knowledge of EHR system and ability to use it efficiently helpful.
- Knowledge of medical terminology helpful.
- Typing skills and attention to detail required.
